The Extraordinary Adventures of Baron Munchausen RPG 3rd Edition - EN

Baron Munchausen's tales of his extraordinary adventures are legendary: riding cannonballs through the sky, sailing to the Moon, meeting gods, escaping from the Turkish army on half a horse, and many more.

Can you outdo the Baron's storytelling? You can try!

Challenge your friends to tell the most extraordinary stories, interrupt to challenge or correct their boasts, and describe your own amazing exploits in this renowned game of wit, riposte and repartee, written in high style by the Baron himself.

The Extraordinary Adventures of Baron Munchausen requires no GM or preparation, and plays in under an hour, using a unique RPG core that replaces dice and pencils with money and fine wines. Originally released in 1998, it was the first of the New Style games and  jumpstarted the story game revolution of the early 2000s. Now acclaimed as a modern classic, we are proud to place it back before the unwashed masses, in the fervent hope that one or two of them may harbour enough of a faint spark of intellect to buy it and appreciate its erudition, wit, chivalry, and insults against politicians, lawyers, other charlatans, and the inhabitants of various nations but principally the French.

This third edition, originally published by Fantasy Flight in 2016, is greatly expanded with new and revised material. Contained within is the original game, along with Arabian-style rules from Sindbad the Sailor, a simpler version for younger (or inebriated) players, and rules for playing online. One of the Baron's own descendants has contributed twelve new variants and different styles of play, including Gutenberg's Revenge, The Recall of Cthulhu, and Munchausen Crescent. Its pages are graced with glorious paintings from the hand of Omar 'Once Upon a Time' Rayyan. It is a splendid and essential addition to your library.
